Advice on Making Divorce Less Difficult

The divorce process has the potential to be emotional and even stressful. Fortunately, by following some important pieces of advice, it is possible to greatly decrease how difficult the end of a marriage is. The following are some of the important steps that you can take to make the divorce process more manageable.

Create an Exit Plan

Part of the divorce process involves returning to how things were when you were single. To discuss the end of your marriage, it is critical to address the subject with your spouse and how you will live after the marriage is dissolved. There is no easy way to obtain a divorce and the strategy that you ultimately select will say a lot about the current state of your marriage.

Envision Your Future

Divorce offers the opportunity to start over again. This means that during the divorce process, you should focus on how this change in your life will allow you to achieve your aspirations, dreams, and goals. Creating a clear plan of what you want can help you create specific plans to make sure that you achieve the results you desire.

Surround Yourself With Friends

Even though the divorce process has the potential to be particularly painful, a person is not required to navigate the process alone. It can be helpful in reducing stress to surround yourself with family and friends during the divorce process. You may also want to speak with a therapist and anyone you can trust who might have already been through a divorce.

Take Children Into Consideration

If you have children, it is likely that they will become one of the primary concerns in your divorce. Many divorcing couples discover that child custody and support issues can influence the outcome of a divorce. Consider in advance what your preferred custody and parenting schedule would be. If custody will be a debated issue, it is often a wise idea to write down details about the roles you propose each parent should play in the child’s life.

Consider the Timing

Timing is a critical part of divorce. If divorce is an issue that you have considered for a while and there are no specific timelines involved, it might be a wise idea to divorce when you can take the greatest tax advantage possible. If you want to file a tax return with the status of “married filing jointly,” you are required to be married on December 31st of the year for which you are filing taxes.

Speak with an Experienced Divorce Lawyer
One of the other best steps that a person can take during the divorce process is to obtain the assistance of an experienced lawyer. Contact Vayman & Teitelbaum P.C. to schedule a case evaluation with an experienced attorney who is prepared to answer any questions that you might have about the process.

If you’re looking for a divorce lawyer who combines the grit of a prizefighter, the patience of a kindergarten teacher, and the bedside manner of a seasoned therapist, Brianna Moscowitz is your person. I found Brianna at a time when I was navigating the emotional equivalent of a shipwreck. Not only did they keep me afloat, they helped me rebuild the damn boat. Stronger, smarter, and far more seaworthy. Brianna is, in a word, exceptional. Tough when the situation demanded it, honest even when it stung (which I appreciated more than I expected), and tirelessly hardworking. She was never out for blood, but always out for what was fair. And more than that, she genuinely seemed to care. I never felt like a case file or a transaction. I felt heard, respected, and protected. She explained everything in human, non-lawyer English. She had time for my questions (even the dumb ones). She never sugar-coated things, but somehow still managed to deliver tough truths with compassion and clarity. That, my friends, is a rare skill. If you’re in the market for a legal team that fights smart, listens well, and shows up with both integrity and empathy—this is where you want to be. Highly, wholeheartedly, five-stars-with-an-extra-gold-sticker recommend.

Leah was great! She picked up my case and came through in helping me win! She remained professional throughout, and even patiently put up with all of my questions. Thank you! Edit: And it has been confirmed the other side in this old case submitted fabricated text message conversations, could have gotten way more from them. Edit 2: New evidence suggests the other side even made fake domains, for fake emails to use in civil court. Stay Vigiliant!

Hiring Vayman & Teitelbaum, P.C was one of the best decisions I made in my life. They represented me pertaining to custody modification. Not only did I receive what we were fighting for, I got more! I received primary custody of my son. Out of all the things I’ve accomplished in my life, this was by far the biggest one. My son means everything to me. Seeing him daily and being involve more in his life has given my life more purpose. I’ll never forget this process. Ms.Zammit, Ms.Shipman and Ms.Horensky were more than exceptional. They were amazing. They got the job done. I would strongly recommend them to anyone seeking for help pretaining to custody modification! God bless.

I've had a wonderful experience working with Andrea Johnson and her wonderful team through a very difficult personal matter. They are very knowledgeable and were always a call or email away. They responded immediately to any question I may have had. I would definitely work with Mrs. Andrea Johnson and her team should another court matter arise. Thank you so much for caring for my family and helping us keep them safe. ❤️
