In a recent blog post, we looked at the increase in millennials getting prenuptial agreements before marriage. There are some strange prenups that are being put into writing before two people tie the knot. What can you put in your prenuptial agreement? Not sure? Let’s see what some others did, both famous and not so much. If you are thinking about signing a prenuptial agreement before you get married, then the law firm of Vayman & Teitelbaum can help. Their experienced family law attorneys can give you insight on prenuptial agreements.
The Cheating Prenup
Some spouses are paranoid that their wife or husband-to-be will cheat on them. Some go as far as to get cheating outlined in their prenuptial agreement. Actor Charlie Sheen and wife Denise Richards had this put into their prenup, and it was lucky for Sheen that it was there. In the end, he paid Richards just $7 million when the two split.
Social Media Prenup
With the rise in social media and the amount of time Americans use their cell phones, tablets, and computers, there is bound to be an attention-starved spouse. Now married couples-to-be can get a prenup that outlines the amount of time each one uses their social media. You can even outline the amount of posts and pictures your spouse will share each day in writing, too.
Sports Prenup
Social media may not be your vice. Perhaps, following sports may be your addiction. Men have been known to agree to a prenuptial agreement with the clause that they will give up watching sports; or at least a certain number of hours a week.
The Length of Marriage Prenup
Some couples put a financial clause into their prenuptial agreement that gives one spouse money for every year the two are married. For example, a wife may receive $100,000 for every year she is married to her husband. By the end of a specified time period, for example 10 years, the prenuptial agreement is void and the two would split everything in the case of divorce.
Baby Clause
In the case of some wealthy entertainers, the idea of getting money for having a child is not so strange. Therefore, writing into a prenup that a specific amount of money will be received for having a child and then getting divorced is not seen as tacky.
Pop star Beyonce has reportedly written into her prenuptial agreement with Jay-Z that she will received $5m for every child they have together, despite being worth a reported $265 million.
